Congress flag falls as Sonia Gandhi tries to unfurl it on party Foundation Day
Tricolor flag of the Indian National Congress fell from the flagpole because it was opened by the party President Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday. The incident occurred when the party celebrated the 137th foundation day at the AICC headquarters in New Delhi.
However, Gandhi along with the treasurer of the Pawan Bansal Party and Secretary General of AICC KC Venugopal held a tricolor party in their hands and displayed it for a while. A congressional worker then climbed the flagpole to arrange tricolor party.
A video distributed on Twitter shows Gandhi pulls a flag to spread it as a party member helping him. When hundreds of workers watched, the flag fell into Gandhi.
In the video message distributed on Twitter, Gandhi asked members to reduced themselves with organizational principles.
“Today, we dedicate ourselves to our ideals, values & principles of our organizations that have been formed, guided and inspired by some of the largest Indians, the most noble and least concerned the 20th century,” he said.
Party leader Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Malikarjun Kharge are among those present at the event.
