Rajya Sabha Seat: Chandigarh MC House to take a call tomorrow
UT may have Sabha’s own chair. MC’s home will submit his opinion on the bill proposed to the administration at the meeting scheduled for Monday.
The Interior Ministry previously sent a private member bill, which was previously transferred by the MP congress from Anandpur Sahib Manish Tewari at Lok Sabha, to the Regional Government, Chandigarh, because of his opinion.
Administration has continued it to the Civic body. The MC house will decide on this agenda at the meeting scheduled for Monday, and his opinion will be sent to the regional government for further action.
“The Bill proposed for amendments to Article 80 and the fourth schedule of the Constitution has been continued by the Ministry of Home Affairs for examination and comments by the UT government,” read the record of administration.
The board member Saurabh Joshi said this agenda came before last year’s house, but was sent to the UT Council for his opinion. Now, has returned to MC because it is the prerogative right of the Civic body to decide on this problem.
Union of Puducherry Union, Jammu and Kashmir and the Delhi National Capital Territory have representatives at Rajya Sabha, while Ladakh, Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli – Daman and Diu, the Andaman Islands and Lakshadweep do not represent at home.
However, the proposed bill specifically to provide representation to Chandigarh at Rajya Sabha. The bill stated that one person must be chosen to Rajya Sabha from Chandigarh.
