Sharma, who is a member of the Dwarka Board, was stated in the letter: “School uniforms are prescribed for children who study in elementary schools running under the South Delhi Municipal corporation, where they look very beautiful. From time to time, the corporation continues to change uniform colors, because of the (uniform) there is no inferiority complex between rich and poor children studying at school. has been found recently that some parents send their children to school in religious clothing, which is not true Once. This step will create a mentality of inequality among children, which is not good for their future. “

 

Sharma told Indian Express that he had decided to write the letter after the incident at the Tukhmirpur school. “The letter has been written to ensure that such events did not occur in schools under our jurisdiction,” he said.

 

Asked whether the same rules will apply to students wearing turbans, he said, “No, it’s different. Turbans are needed to tie hair. In every school, Sikh comes turban and no correlation that must be withdrawn.”

 

Further letters stated that all zon officers must ensure that school children deviate from school uniforms only during competition or celebration. “In normal days, students must be present at school only in school uniforms,” ​​he said.

 

In Delhi, public schools are divided into two categories – which are run by the Delhi government and they are by city companies. While city corporations can only run school to class V, the Delhi government has no limit.

 

All city school students have the choice to shift to Delhi government schools in class VI. There are 568 schools under the South MCD where around 2.50 lakh children learn.

Students at Tukhmirpur School are in class VI and go to the Delhi government school for the first time on Monday when the alleged incident occurred.
